I am a lawyer, firearms enthusiast, shooter, certified firearms training counselor, certified firearms instructor and range safety officer. I hold a Federal Firearms License (FFL-Type 7 Manufacturer) and a Special Occupation Stamp (SOT) for the purchase and sale of regulated firearms and accessories under Title II of the Gun Control Act of 1968 (National Firearms Act). I am a life member of the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA, Certified Instructor and Critical Response Team lawyer) and the National Rifle Association (Certified Range Safety Officer). I hold a Heritage Lifetime Membership in Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. And, I am a Graduate of the Law of Self-Defense Instructor Program. I am also a John Maxwell Certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker. I regularly conduct courses in firearms education and training, the law of self-defense, the legal use of deadly force and related topics. I joined the Army National Guard in 1967 and served for six years. During that time I maintained qualifications with the M-14, M-16 and 45 caliber and 9mm handguns. My last job in the Military was as a Provost Marshal Operations Sergeant.
I am an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment. I founded Walker Tactical Firearms, LLC to provide high quality firearms education and training; to promote a better understanding about our Natural Right of Self-Defense and our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms; to support organizations that advocate in favor of protecting our rights under the Second Amendment; and, to assist clients preserve and protect their firearms, including those registered under the National Firearms Act, through the GunDocx™ Trust and Legacy Planning System.
My day job is practicing law with Cosho Humphrey, LLP, a Boise based law firm. I received my J.D. from University of Idaho Law School in 1975 and earned an LL.M. (Taxation) from University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida in 1977.
I’ve been practicing law since April, 1976. My practice has focused on gun law, the law of self defense, litigation, planning and transactions. I have handled trial level litigation and appeals before state and federal courts in Idaho and in other states. My experience includes all facets of complex litigation, including prosecution and defense of civil claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, lawsuits involving financial crimes and fraud, minority shareholder oppression, securities violations, tax disputes with state and federal governments, construction defects and breach of contract.
My planning and transactions practice includes gun trusts, business succession, estate and trust planning, family wealth transfer and preservation planning. I’m a member of WealthCounsel®, a membership-based organization of thousands of estate and business planning attorneys located in all 50 states.
